Rest

Jump to page:

The ultimate goal is to find balance between the Body, Mind and Spirit. The first step when we want to shift and get unstuck is to allow rest, so we can stop and look around at where we are at. Then prepare and clear the path ahead.
  • Rest: **Update Journey page.

    • Stop and take time to actually rest and reset your body & give it the care it needs.

    • Establish your comfort zone.

    • Recognize where you are reacting in fight, flight, freeze or friend and fawn.

    • Remove threats to your peace in your environment. Allow yourself to be in peace.

    • Allow yourself to Let go of attachments & situations that cause you to lose your sense of peace.

    • Find ways to truely feel safe and feel in control of your time and your life- by yourself.

    • Take a look around & really observe the external world.  See the patterns & cycles.

    • Rest your mind & Look inward to just observe your own thoughts and feelings - your own patterns.

    • Work to Release patterns and beliefs from past beliefs and systems that no longer make sense.

    • Feel into your body & connect with your senses.

    • Dream and imagine what your ideal life and true freedom looks like to you.

Rest your body:
  • Listen to your body. Just Let yourself lay in a comfortable position & feel the sensations of your body, of all 5 senses.
  • Sleep. Allow yourself to sleep in or take a nap.  Rest is such an important tool for your body's natural healing and growth!  Is it time to invest in yourself and treat yourself to a good bed? One that is supportive yet cozy! 💡If you can't sleep- listen to your body. My mom always tought me that it was almost as good to just lay still to let your body rest, even if your mind can't.
  • Fast. Give your gut a break. Do a 24 or 48 hour fast. **Research first.
  • Be your safe space. First chakra - belonging, safety, longing to embody spirit, survival, money.        ○ Connection with the Earth
  • Go Natural.  Eat foods without additives.
  • Be "Lazy". Do the bare minimum.
  • Slow Breathing. Spinal Breathing Pranayama.  This is one of the most powerful practices I know of to balance energy, to open energy channels, to calm the nervous system, to align and integrate.
Inhale - visualize the energy going all the way up your spine to the meddle of your head (pineal gland)
Exhale - all the way down to the first chakra.
If it’s easy for you - you can add a 90 degree turn and visualize the energy go all the way to your third eye chakra.
Keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth. Do a Kegel exercise and hold gently.
Keep your eyes closed, looking up to the third eye
It's a great way to start any meditation practice.
(can be combined with self pleasure)
  • Butterfly release  - psoas muscle.
Rest your mind:
I am upset/angry (leads to Letting go-  because what I see is not there.)
I do not perceive my own best interests. ( you can't predict outcome- your ideas on the situation come from past...  influenced by ego. )
Think of situations that currently bother you.  "in the situation involving ***, I would like ***,***,*** to happen.
Recognize that goals towards desired outcome are often unrelated, or often conflict, and so you'll always have some disappointment.
"I do not perceive my own best interests in this situation."
I do not know what anything is for. Look around.  ( Letting go of ego's reasons, and seeing life as a teacher )
I am not the victim of the world I see.
Every emotion is teaching us something.
Every Relationship is Ego tempting us. because any want or need is out of ego.  We wouldn't be drawn to them if they weren't our teacher.
Partners teach us something general.
Start to recognize what is good/ bad.
Do no harm!   Past, future, others.  Recognize that harming another brings guilt.
Explanations are trauma responses - no "because"
  • Letting Go.
    • Letting go of the thing that is hurting you.Let go – it's heavy if we keep carrying it.
This ***  does not mean anything.
I do not understand anything I see. ( to clear the thoughts, mental attachments. )
These thoughts about *** do not mean anything.  ( Good or Bad, They are as the objects – not real. )
I am upset/angry  because what I see is not there.
I am not upset at ***  for the reason I think.  ( all triggers are equal – & not real. )
I see only the past in this *** (object).  ( Perception of things comes from past experience.  I know a cup because I've seen one before )
I seem to be thinking about *** But - My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.  The only true thought about the past is that it's not here.
( Eyes closed to reinforce thought images are in the mind )
While thoughtless ideas preoccupy your mind, the truth is blocked. Recognizing that your mind has been merely blank, rather than believing that it is filled with real ideas, is the first step to opening the way to vision.
My thoughts about *** do not mean anything.  This idea will help release me from all that I now believe.
( Out of mind into heart – Thoughts are always from separation – oneness has no thought – always ego or spirit leading....)
My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.  - Eyes closed, embrace the thought, then look around (scan) casually
I am looking at a meaningless world
Mind, body, soul - remove anything not nourishing and feeling good.
Back away from all obligations to give yourself a rest - don't add any new
  • Dance! Physical Release- movement.   http://collectivepsyche.com/2015/11/cymatics-mantra-tapping-into-matter-with-sound-vibrations/
  • Presence. Life is about moments – be in presence!  💡If you can't be in presence - Distract & Dissociate.
  • Make space for ideas (on how to get into your heart):   ○ I do not see this *** (object) as it is now.  ( see it for it's truly current state in the moment. )   ○ I am determined to see. ( you do not now, but you are determined to make your present state better than present  )    ○ Above all else, I want to see.  ( start looking for the lessons )   ○ Above all else, I want to see this *** differently ( recognizing that in seeing the lessons, you can change outcomes in life )
  • Allow whatever is○ Depression : https://thesacredscience.com/depression-anxiety-dementia
  • Distratct and Dissociate. Cold bag on neck, warm bath - change sensory input.  Something to focus on. Sex and physical pleasure.
    • Games!
    • Read. Lay down with a good book or movie. laying still and focusing on getting lost in the story.
    • Colouring.
    • Cooking.
  • Massage. Feel the sensations.  Massage your partner, your self, or a pet.
  • Rest your Wallet. LifeHacks. SaveMoney. It's amazing how much less stressed I am now that I know I can save money if I need to, with a few skills, recipes and resources to fall back on.  Mend your own clothing, baking, etc.

Rest your Spirit:

Rest your Community:
  • Hermit.  Allow yourself to withdraw from friends for a while.  Give yourself the time and attention and space that you deserve.
  • Unplug.
  • Be selfish. Guilt around not being there for people.   - Why would you intentionally step into an uncomfortable situation?  Life will give you those anyhow.  ( life is designed to teach ) They will find people to teach them no matter what...  but its our job to be the student too..  our job to better ourselves...  so why keep ourselves stuck by putting our energy into trying to teach someone else their lesson?  I believe that they might be here to learn from us, but our example should be enough to inspire..  if they are asking for our time holding their hand?  That's our own lesson in setting boundaries and avoiding our own lessons by getting distracted by someone else's.  Speak the truth once..  after that, its up to them to find the truth and believe in your words.    If it's not causing you discomfort – go  ahead, if you want.  But the discomfort is your inner guidance saying "this is not for you...."
