Doing the simple things to fill your cup is a sort of Gimmick - a trick to hack your body and mind into being more peaceful and calm... more confident and clear headed. What are your favourite gimmicks?


Mine are time out in nature, intimacy, road trips, reading, time with friends, taking care of my body, cozy warm sweet drinks, and music.


Have some fun and allow yourself to get excited about something, and be sure to use the tools and resources at your disposal to make it easier. This isn't a challenge to see who wins, or how productive or self sufficient you can be. Let yourself just be fun and at ease with it. You deserve it. You're worth it. ❤️


Other ideas:

  • Journalling or talking something out.

    • Avoid needing to find a solution.

  • Retail therapy - buy something fun and frivolous (without breaking the bank).

    • or the opposite - set aside some savings.

  • "Me" Day - no interruptions allowed!

    • or a "We" Day - everyone is invited!

  • Call a loved one just to say hello.

    • or Go out and meet someone new.

  • Change up your appearance- try something new.

    • Play dress-up!

  • Crafting, Art, Building, Repairing - just make your world a little more functional or fun.

  • Plan an event or holiday.

    • Think of gifts, activities or silly things to make it more fun.

  • Music! Dance, Sing, Blast the music so loud you can't think.

    • Create a playlist or go out to watch a local musician play.
