Respect Diversity

By allowing respect for others who are different from us, we also allow room to honour our own differences. This world's social structure is breaking down because we now live in a global community, and can learn and grow from infinite resources at our fingertips. Because of this, many of us find ourselves lost and confused - without a home base... but this also allows us infinite opportunity to shape ourselves into what truly fits us, instead of conforming to fit into the local community - we can now reach far and wide for people who we can be truly comfortable around. Recognizing that everyone is in this same boat can give us the freedom to not judge and feel the need to "fix" or control others - because we have the freedom to simply walk away. And that freedom to be able to walk away allows room for us to have and to show respect for the things that do not fit with us. Is there a place in your life where you have been trying to control someone else in order to make your own world feel more safe? more secure or comfortable? See if you can find some respect for where they're coming from. Can you allow yourself to disengage with the urge to "fix" things, and walk away- towards something that suits you better?
