Pick Your Battles

Let go of the neverending battle.
Your pain and hurt are valid. And they fuel the fire of change. You can have better results by re-direct that fire. Instead of focusing on retaliation or validation, focus in directions that build and create new and better ways.
Spending your energy with the people and situations which perpetuate the problem leaves you drained - and without a solution. Your energy and time are worth spending on the things that serve you. That respect you and that will honour you and what you've been through.
To get there - you need to shift away from those battles that aren't going anywhere.
Trust in yourself. Once you know you've done the best you can, and see that the situation isn't changing - it's time to admit that you can't win that battle. And that staying in it is causing everyone involved to lose. And then- pick a new battle- One that has fewer casualties and is more productive.
See if you can pick one where everyone has a chance of winning. Where the end result is collaborative. If that's out of reach - challenge yourself to improve every day. That battle will always be worthwhile.
