When the storm comes... Do you Fight? Flee? Fawn? Freeze? or can you Feel?
When faced with a threat- the 5th option: Feeling into the situation, discerning exactly what the threat is and if that threat is real... recognizing how you tend to react and if that response is working for you. Feeling out different ideas on how to respond. Allowing the emotions to come up, but not overwhelm you.
Our bodies react to stress and threats in ways that are designed to help us continue the fight. In order to be able to work on real, long lasting solutions that allow for everyone to be happy and work together, it's important to be able to step out of that physiological state and let the body learn to relax the nervous system. This in turn allows you to Focus. And allows for the ability to step out of the fight if you choose. To find alternative options.
